There is no minimum rental period. You can rent a storage container for as little as one week, one month, or as long as you need. There is also no maximum rental period — many of our customers store long-term and simply continue their rental on a rolling basis.
No. Your weekly rental covers secure use of your container and access to the site. Optional add-ons — such as internal lighting (from £10/month) and power supply — are clearly priced and only charged if you choose to add them. There are no admin fees, no service charges, and no exit penalties.

You’ll need:

– Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within the last three months)

Yes — you provide your own padlock to secure your unit. This is a deliberate security feature: it means that only you have a key, and no one else — including Greencube staff — can access your container. If you arrive without a lock, lockboxes are available on-site.
Greencube does not provide contents insurance as part of your rental. We strongly recommend that you take out a personal contents insurance policy to cover your stored belongings. Some home insurance policies extend to items in storage — check with your provider. Specialist self-storage insurance is also widely available at low cost.

Our storage containers are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — including bank holidays. Your PIN code gives you gate access at any time.
When your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a secure personal PIN code. Enter this at the gate to access the fully illuminated yard. Drive up to your container, use your padlock to open it, and load or unload at your own pace. No staff need to be present.

Moving In & Moving Out
When you arrive for the first time:

2. Leave the unit clean and empty

Your rental ends on that date. There are no exit fees, no notice period penalties, and no complicated move-out procedures.
